Hey, my name is Jenna Lancour, I'm an 8th grader, I am 14 years old, I've played hockey for nine years, and I am currently playing for the NEWHL U14 All Stars. This past winter, I played for the Vermont Stars U14 Team, and over the years, I have enjoyed playing six years of U14 hockey for the Essex Lady Sting, the Adirondack Northstars, and the Vermont Stars. I love to collect women's hockey memorabilia, and am a huge women's hockey fanatic. I have had many adventures I hope to share with you from traveling and watching womens hockey.
Over the years, I have met several women's hockey players from all over the world, including Germany, USA, Canada, Sweden, Russia and FInland. My favorite players from these countries are:
USA: Caitlin Cahow, Natalie Darwitz, and Hilary Knight she gave me her USA practice jersey
Canada: Ashley Riggs and Jen Botteril
Sweden: Kim Martin
Finland: Nora Tallus
Germany: Christina Oswald
Russia: Ekaterina Pashkevich
Plus, I have serveral favorite college hockey players from all over the country.
Really quickly, I want to tell you about our NEWHL team; they are some of the coolest girls I have ever played with. We are from all over the Northeast (Vermont, New Jersey, New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Maine), and consist of 15 girls. We're 3-4-1 so far in the two tournaments we've played in Canada, but I know that in the next two tournaments we are playing in, that record will improve.
Playing with different teams is so much fun.
I love meeting new teammates.
That is what hockey is all about for me.
And my family from the Vermont Stars: Mack, Hardy, Lex, Mel, Logie, Maggie, Gretch, Rachel, Elana, Kenna, Carly, Madi, Dani, Hadley, and Devins: I miss you guys !
I will be very busy in the next weeks, with Hockey Night in Boston this coming weekend [I'll try to blog from there everynight], the Vermont Stars tournament in two weeks, and training for the New England Development Camp, where I'm playing with the older girls so I am pretty excited about that.
If I can I will blog everyday...
All for now,
Wait ! There's one more thing.
TRIVIA !
haha.
Question: What USA Women's Ice Hockey Player scored the winning goal against Canada in the Gold Medal Game at the 1998 Olympics ?
Hint : I have her skully cap and she signed it for me.
Keep playing hard with a smile (:
